Pit stop at Nana & Papa's

Nana's house is a perfect halfway point between Olympia and San Bernardino, so we stopped there for a few days. This is the boys' cool fort in the olive orchard.

Heroes and Sunshine

Later this afternoon, we headed over to the fountain by the marina. We ran into some friends and the boys had a good time. I even got my first sunburn of the season. Woot! :)

Ahhh, sunshine

After a week of being homebound (Matthew had tonsillitis this week), we escaped into the sunshine on Friday and headed to the zoo. Beethoven the Beluga is heading to Sea World San Antonio soon so they are doing shows every day with him. We decided to check it out...

Matthew was so excited we were allowed to stay after the show to ask the trainer a question. She called on him, and he asked how they transported the whale from Washington to Texas. I was proud because the other kids asked dumb questions - things she had just said in the show. Like, how old it was and then, after one kid asking, another three or four asking how old it was. Hello, dummies. Listen. Ok ok, that is mean. Mine is just the coolest kid... :P

Matthew loved this vulture... I think because when they did the letter V in kindergarten, they used the vulture alot. This one is prettier than most I've seen.

After the zoo, we went to a few different parks. That sunshine, I tell ya... we Washingtonians love it and don't like being inside when it is sunning. :)

Rolling down grassy hills... fantastic for allergies.

Fishing & Boats

Yesterday was the children's fishing derby here in town. Jake chickened out at the last minute when he saw them bashing the fish on the heads with sticks... watching them frantically fight on their way out of the water and then getting bashed on the head, he must have really thought them something to be feared. :)

Later in the evening, we went down to the marina to check out the boats. The Sandman was open again (our favorite) - the boys said pleeeeaaaase mom. :)

See the boys hiding by the tree?
