Relaxin'

The boys have declared it is "Movie Night" - despite the fact it is Sunday. :) If we pretend it is Friday hard enough, maybe our wish will come true....

Mother of boys

The day started out with a haircut... my poor children. I have no skills at this at all. Jake was scared this time so I had to use the clippers while he sat in my lap on the bathroom counter hah.

After church, we grabbed some 'little pizzas' as promised, and drove to the park for lunch. It was about 80 degrees and felt like summer. Since the season has pretty much changed here (I haven't been warm in weeks!), we took advantage of the sunny day.

Then I opened my big fat mouth. I remembered the boys' skateboards were in the trunk...

How studly is Jake??
And Matthew impressing the girls. Geez.

A new, fun kind of torture

Our dear kitty has some pretty narly ear mites and fleas, so we had to do some medication for her. My veterinarian assistant didn't have much experience, but he had loads of enthusaism - especially when he found out a kitty bath was in store. He could barely contain his joy when he saw her bundled in the towel. "Ohhhhhhhh mooooooom... can I PLEASE hold her?" So cute. She looks rather upset hah - she didn't talk to us for a whole 15 mins after the ordeal.

1st day of kindergarten - yahoo!

Today was Matthew's first day of kindergarten and he was so excited, I felt so happy for him.
He had a great day, and when I got back this afternoon I found this email from his teacher:

Hi! This is Mrs. Mac. I thought you might like to hear about Matthew’s first day of kindergarten. Well, first, he said he liked to be called “Jack” so I put that on his name tag. Please let me know if that is NOT what you want him called! M. was very well behaved and seemed at home with the basics of being at school – sitting at his place, raising his hand, asking permission to do things. He enjoyed playing in the home center today. I’ll see him again Friday! Mrs. Mac
